Hey, momma. If you’ve been around here any length of time, you know my journey of online business and digital marketing has been a wild ride.
But did you also know at the very beginning i absolutely *hated* the thought of marketing? The entire marketing realm had such an ick factor to me both as a consumer and from my college experience having to create a mock campaign for an imaginary product. Ew.
I vowed to not do marketing the ways others did. I refused paid ads, selling my soul on cheesy webinars to sell products, even to this day I barely use instagram. It’s just not my thing. All these (I’m sure well meaning and not ill intentioned) coaches and peers would tell me:
Oh, but you have to have an email marketing funnel!
Oh, you must budget at least a hundred dollars per day for Facebook ads!
Oh, but you must post on Instagram at least 5 times a day, and at least 3 of those posts must be a video of you camera facing, and you must have a ring light to look professional!
Ugh. Vomit. I could seriously rant for an hour about this. But I won’t, because this post is about inspiring you and helping you build a successful digital marketing business!
I much prefer to be authentic with good old writing pen to paper (or in this case, typing madly on my Macbook any chance I feel inspired). I’m not your typical “ohemgee look at me I made six figures this year blah blah blah” blogger who writes for the Google gods. Nope, not my jam. I don’t even write “proper”. It just flows out of me. I write how I would speak to you in a conversation, and honestly I believe that’s how it should be. (And if you have been following the blogger uproar surrounding how Google is changing how they rank sites, probably pretty useful too since you can tell I’m obviously not an AI bot. Just an inspired momma with ADHD trying to get her thoughts down as quickly as possible before I blink and they’re gone.)
I love going against the status quo and doing exactly what people say I can’t do, or don’t expect.
I’m also a sucker for a good blog post roundup of quotes and affirmations. And thus, this blog post was born. Here I’m compiling words that have inspired me the most at different points along my digital marketing journey – from the dark moments of the soul all the way to feeling on top of the world. I hope at least one of these lines inspires you as well!
